The Chamber has long recognised the need to have a grass-roots presence with our community and as a response has developed a model called ‘Our Shire Villages’. This is a key priority of our strategic roadmap – aligning to our key pillars of Champion, Connect and Thrive. After consultation with long-standing members, sponsors and non-members across the Sutherland Shire ecosystem, we fast tracked our initiatives given the very real need for a ’voice’ for the businesses within these villages.
“Our Shire Villages is a place-based initiative that empowers local communities, businesses, and government to work together to revitalise and reimagine key precincts across the Sutherland Shire. We believe strong, connected villages are the heart of thriving communities — where people shop, meet, work, and feel proud to belong. Through collaboration, local insight, and shared investment, we aim to create more vibrant, safe, and sustainable local centres that reflect the needs and aspirations of the people who live and work there.”
As such we held our first meeting for our ‘Caringbah Village’, called ‘Caring for Caringbah’ on Tuesday April 8.
