Notice of AGM
As a not-for-profit membership organisation, the Sutherland Shire Business Chamber (SSBC) provides an important and independent voice supporting local businesses and our community.
As a financial Member or Sponsor of SSBC, you are invited to nominate another member, or yourself, to be part of the Executive Committee. You are also encouraged to participate and vote in the upcoming election.
Each year, in accordance with our Constitution, a number of Board positions become available. Our Board is limited to ten members.
We are looking to fill the following positions:
General Board Members (2 positions)
President
Vice President
Treasurer
Please note, we are grateful to three current board members who have stepped in throughout the year to fill vacancies and have advised their wish to formalise their roles:
Vice President – Kamen Tsonev
Treasurer – Deborah Power
General Board Member and Evolve Liaison – Tim Jenson
Our President has come to the end of the two-year term and will need to re-elect as will General Board Member, Nathan Rigney.
Our board currently represents strong capability across many sectors, business types and specialisations, however we continually aim to represent a diverse range of businesses within the local community. For this reason, and to achieve diversity within our Board composition we are seeking interest from representatives who have expertise in any of the following sectors:
1. Professionals with IT expertise
2. Professionals with Event Management/Marketing Systems expertise
3. Senior Executives/Owners representing large Sutherland Shire businesses
5. Senior Executives/Owners representing Construction Industry businesses
6. 18-35 year old to lead Evolve
If you are passionate about improving the business landscape of the Shire, and want to make a difference, we encourage you to submit a nomination. Please reach out to our current President or Vice President for further guidance.
Important Dates:
· 16 August – 5 September – Nominations open to all financial SSBC members*
· 5 September – Nominations close
· 11 September – Candidates posted on SSBC website and ballot papers distributed to members
· 12 September – Voting opens to financial SSBC members*
· 23 September – Voting closes at midday
· 26 September – Annual General Meeting – Announcement of new Executive Committee
