On Wednesday 10th May, the Sutherland Shire Business Chamber partnered with Realise Business to host a panel of cybersecurity experts to help local business owners make the right decisions on how to protect themselves online.
The panel speakers were:
- Skye Theodorou, a business advisor from the office of the NSW Small Business Commissioner;
- Louise Bavin, a lawyer from Australian Business Lawyers & Advisors;
- Jeremy Nelson, the director of Minos Technology; and
- Samea Maakrun, owner of Sasy ‘n Savy
The presentations included interesting facts and statistics about the rise of cyber crime, a business owner’s personal story of her business being attacked, the steps business owners need to take if or when they suffer an attack, and advice about ways business owners could protect themselves online. Afterwards, the panellists sat down to answer questions from the audience.
